St Georges Youth Project 4Health 4Fun 4Life

15/03/10

St Georges Youth Project have been awarded a 4health4fun4life grant of £7,304 plus an addition £1,000 from the Kathleen Mary Denham Fund through match funding.

The financial boost will mean the project can carry on with the good work already achieved over the last three years. The group currently provide the young people of North Halifax with sports activity sessions and a drop in two evenings a week.

The grant will be used to appoint new part time staff to open five nights a week increasing to seven nights in time. The increased availability will provide the young people the chance of regular exercise and the opportunity to take on bigger and better challenges knowing they can continue with their projects nightly and not have to wait a whole week. Dedicated staff and volunteers will work on rota to ensure the project is open nightly and encourage the young people in off the streets.
