Beating the Credit Crunch Together
26/04/10
We are aiming to provide some larger awards annually, for projects responding to the issues raised and changing social trends. This will give a real opportunity to address the problems that voluntary and community groups are telling us they need our support to deal with. There will also be a regular programme of smaller grants available from our donors. These smaller grants are also likely to be less in number and will need to involve the donors more actively, so applicants may have longer waits for a decision.
Over the coming weeks the new Grants Strategy will be agreed by the Foundation's Board of Trustees and once this formal agreement is in place information will be published on the Foundation's website www.cffc.co.uk
There are tough times ahead and we all must look much more creatively at how we resource our work. Grants cannot be the only solution and groups will need to seek other answers; such as the need to work with another group, increase or introduce charges, do more community fund-raising, look for support in kind or share resources - all of which the Foundation is committed to facilitating. The new Grants Strategy seeks to be a more sensible and sustainable resource for the future.
