New Look Grant Making for 2010 & 11

30/06/10

The Community Foundation's new Grants Policy provides the framework for new leaner programmes of support in harder times. There are two new programmes of grant making, one about to begin and another, with a focus on specific priorities, set for late in the year,

The voluntary and community sector is facing the challenge of how to resource its work in the future. Tougher times for everyone mean we have to be far more clever with limited resources. The Foundation will have less money available for grants in 2010/11 so groups should consider how grants cannot be the only solution and for example, seek other answers; such as to work with another group, increase or introduce charges, do more community fund-raising, look for support in-kind or share resources.

New for 2010

Donor Interest Programme

Our new Donor Interest Programme is launched on Monday 2 August. In this programme applicants will be able see what our donors are interested in funding and apply for projects that fit.

There will be an online application form and links to our donor page with information about the kind of projects our donors are particularly interested in funding and the size of award they wish to make.

This is a small grants programme and it is expected that most awards will be less than £3,000.
