Chiraagh Newsletter, 01/2008
As a small organisation we have been involved in many things. But in October 2005 The Pakistan Earthquake brought home the reality of the benefits and value of community.
We had support from hundreds of people to gather clothes, medicines, tools, food and all sorts of other things. The impact of all this helped to gather goodwill and momentum of volunteering and community work and a number of people are now deeply involved in voluntary and charity work.
None of this would have been possible if we had not had support over the years from the Foundation and their Donors to develop our skills and confidence in this type of work.
I would like to thank everyone who worked hard to make the first Forum, a truly enjoyable event.Sue McGrotty,
