CFFC welcomes a new Localgiving.com project officer who is all set to fundraise!
Community Foundation for Calderdale are offering a new fundraising opportunity to community groups across Calderdale. By teaming up with a national project called Localgiving.com any community group, small or large, can have their own webpage and collect donations from supporters want to give through the internet.
Rachel Julian is the newly appointed Localgiving.com Project Officer at the Community Foundation and she said,
“Localgiving.com is giving an opportunity to every group to reach out to all those supporters who use the internet and raise awareness of the amazing work being done every day in Calderdale.
Through the webpage you can tell your supporters what new projects you have, events which are coming up, sponsored events or an annual fundraising campaign.
Supporters, local people, companies or new fans can make a donation, with Gift Aid even if the group isn’t registered with the Charity Commission, and the money comes directly, and safely, to the group.”
“And it’s not just about money, Localgiving.com enables you to search from your postcode and find out just who is working in your local area and what they’re doing. It will help strengthen our communities and donors can find local groups they would like to support.”
Localgiving is a non-profit organisation, all the groups are vetted by the Community Foundations, and it is offering fundraising tools to community groups at a time when grant funding is more difficult to obtain.
We’ll start seeing the Localgiving.com logo on websites, leaflets, sponsored event posters and your community noticeboard – it’s a commitment to improving our communities and it’s a trusted way of giving.
If you support your community, get online, get your group online, and make everyone aware of the hard work that you do.
