Today 16/04/14 CMBC are launching their consultation with the voluntary sector to help inform how they use  funding from 2015 onwards. The consultation will run from, 16th April, to the 9th July 2014.

Why

Following the Budget Consultations in January 2013 and 2014, they  need to save £220,000 from our Communities and Business Change Directorate’s Voluntary Sector Commissioning budget from April 2015.

Currently, the directorate’s scheme awards three different levels of funding:

  1. Large contracts up to £370,000 a year; namely advice and information, voluntary sector infrastructure and Healthwatch contracts
  2. Large grants, up to £29,000, awarded for up to three years at a time, to deliver specific services around safer and stronger communities and cultural objectives
  3. Small one off grants, up to £3,000, to help community projects.
