Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC) strengthens and enriches communities in Calderdale by inspiring, managing and directing local philanthropy and is part of a rapidly growing network of 49 UK community foundations with collective invested funds of over £500m.
In the last 25 years we have grown our endowment to £9m and have made grant awards of over £20m to 1000s of local organisations and individuals in crisis. By 2020 we aim to grow our endowment to £20m and be giving up to £1m in grants each year. CFFC enjoys a superb reputation locally and nationally and its modern-office working environment and staff development/retention are excellent.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the CEO and lead day to day development, at the next exciting stage in our growth. The Development Manager has overall responsibility for developing commissioned donor prospects research and, with the support and guidance from the CEO, is accountable for the Foundation’s performance in relation to developing corporate and business support, attracting new Donor Funds (corporate and individual), securing corporate sponsorships and identifying and tendering for Public Sector grant schemes. You will also be responsible for the building of strong relationships with donors and potential donors, business leaders and commissioners to ensure you contribute significantly to our ambitious five year targets.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a successful track record of achievement in a development role within the voluntary or corporate sectors, where you will have built solid relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation. You will ideally evidence a good level of income generation success from a range of private, corporate, public and charitable sources. Some exposure to donor prospect research or other transferable skills would also be an advantage.
