Grassroots Grants for Kirklees Groups

Grassroots Grants is a Government funded initiative from the Office of the Third Sector and will be supporting communities in Kirklees with grants until December 2010.

Grassroots Grants programme offers grants of over £900 to £5,000Applying is a straight forward process. The Foundation operates a rolling programme; with decisions being made on a regular basis, so it is an accessible source of funding for voluntary and community groups in Kirklees. Decisions will usually be made within eight weeks of an application being received.

Who can apply?

Voluntary and community groups are eligible if they:
  • Have a constitution (no need to be a registered charity).
  • Have been established and active in the local community prior to January 1 2009.
  • Are mainly run by volunteers.
Community and voluntary groups with an income of less than £30,000:
  • Income would need to be less than £30,000 per year, taken as an average of the previous three years (or since the group was established, if it is less than three years old).
Groups meeting local need:
  • The group would need to show how it is meeting the needs of local people.
