Giving Later
When your client seeks a deferred giving option, we are able to assist in presenting the best options.
In making a bequest to help their local community, your client can be confident that their gift will be managed to benefit the people and communities of Calderdale in perpetuity.
There are a number of ways in which your client can leave a legacy to the Community Foundation:
- Pecuniary - a gift of a specific sum of money
- Specific - a gift of a specific item - such as property
- Residuary – all, or a share of, the residue of an estate
- Reversionary - a useful way of providing for a partner or friend for their lifetime, whilst ensuring the underlying asset passes to a chosen charity on their death.
A Donor Agreement details the charities your client designates for his or her legacy. Should your client wish to change beneficiaries, all that is needed is a simple amendment to the donor agreement. It is not necessary to go through a costly redrafting of estate planning documents.
This maximises your client’s savings of cost and time while fulfilling charitable goals and realising a giving legacy. For your convenience, we can also provide suggested language/terminology for inclusion in wills and other planning documents.
