If the sourcing of food and warmth was an everyday concern would you know where to turn to find help?

Now throw in Snow, below freezing temperatures, isolation, fear, lack of money, rising fuel costs

This is the situation faced by many of Calderdale’s Homeless, Elderly, and vulnerable children under five each winter. Last winter The Community Foundation For Calderdale and partner agencies launched Calderdale Warm Homes Healthy People a project that aimed to help these people to stay warm and healthy in winter, Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC) sourced Food and warmth items such as…………..

Gloves, Hat, Scarf,  (adult and child sizes)  Hand warmers Thermal Socks Hot water bottle Torch & Batteries Flask (adult)Shampoo Conditioner Soap Body wash / foam bath Pack Mac Breaker cup (child) Cutlery Kettle Pots & Pans Plates and bowls Toaster Quilt & Pillows Oil filled radiator Water proof coat Shoes Camp bed, tinned food items

These items were then collected by volunteers, Packed by volunteers, delivered to people by volunteers from Calderdale SmartMove

Many agencies were involved in the distribution of these packs including Age uk, Calderdale SmartMove, VAC, Ebenezer Food Drop In, Inn Churches, SureStart Children’s Centers, Family Intervention Team, Alzheimer’s Society, Calderdale Council, West Yorkshire Fire Service, Department of Health and many volunteers and local businesses.

This year we are asking can you or your business donate any of the items listed above to help us increase the number of people we can help this winter, last year we reached 1800 people
