Sowerby Bridge Rotary supports #MakeItStop
The Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC) and Courier campaign #MakeItStop received a welcomed boosts to its fundraising. Sowerby Bridge Rotary awarded the charity a donation of £1000 that will be matched pound for pound by the Community Foundation, adding a further £2000 to the campaign.
Ken Forsyth from the Sowerby Bridge Rotary said, “The Rotary were keen to support the appeal after seeing it in the Courier, funds we raise are often invested back into the local community to support people and charitable groups working locally. The #MakeItStop appeal is doing great work in raising the profile of the issues faced by older people in Calderdale and we wanted to support that work.”
Community Foundation for Calderdale is currently offering to match any donation made via www.localgiving.com/cffc pound for pound. All money raised will support older people in Calderdale who are suffering because of fuel poverty or loneliness
Fundraising has now exceeded £5000 with CFFC also pledging £25,000.
